I’m a separation anxiety specialist, it’s not just something I do, it’s what I live and breathe. The majority of my work is dedicated to supporting dogs who struggle with being alone and the humans who love them. These cases are complex, emotional, and deeply impactful, and they deserve thoughtful, ethical care.
I regularly collaborate with world-renowned veterinarians and board-certified veterinary behaviorists, and I receive referrals from other professionals throughout the animal behavior industry. My work is rooted in both practical, real-world experience and evidence-based science.
My background includes over 15 years in the shelter industry, hands-on experience with Virginia Tech’s Animal Behavior & Welfare Lab, and an ongoing commitment to continued education. I believe learning never stops, especially in a field that continues to evolve as we better understand animal welfare, emotional health, and humane training practices.
My approach to training is grounded in ethics first. That means prioritizing emotional safety, consent, and the individual dog in front of me, not quick fixes or one-size-fits-all protocols. Progress comes from building trust, resilience, and true comfort, not from pushing dogs beyond their limits.
Supporting dogs through separation anxiety is delicate work, and I consider it a privilege to be trusted with it.
